Program usage records

All programs and games run by the selected user are shown in this panel (if you instructed net-MaMMa to monitor his activities).
Each record has the background color of the program / game classification. If a program or game has been classified as dangerous and the user tries to run it, you should see the corresponding record with a red background. Similarly, if the program is classified as Leisure, the record background will be yellow and Green if the classification is “School/Learning”. If the program is unknown, the background is white.

The following image shows an example of the program usage records’ panel:

The programs listed are the ones run directly by the monitored user.
Sometimes, however, it is impossible to clearly distinguish software that is started directly by the user or by the computer itself as a support to the user’s activities.
In case there are doubts, net-MaMMa lists the program usage. With time, you will be able to spot these programs in the list and only pay attention to the other programs.
A good indicator that shows the programs run directly by the user is the time spent using the program.

Records

For each record line, the columns correspond to:

  • Program: the program description;
  • Window: the program window title. Most of the times, the window title is a good source of information. In the case of MSN Messenger, the window title displays the person to whom the child is chatting; in the case of Internet Explorer, it corresponds to the folder names; Internet explorer shows the visited pages, etc...
  • Start: The moment when the window was opened;
  • Total: the amount of time the window was opened;
  • Activity: the amount of time the user spent interacting with the program.

The list allows multiple selections – you can select different records to block delete, change or apply definitions. To select several records you should use the mouse together with “Shift” or “Ctrl” key, as you would do to select multiple files within a folder, in Windows Explorer.

Toolbar’s options

This panel has a toolbar for you to interact with the records that you selected from the list. Some of the actions can be performed on selected blocks of records. The available actions are:
